User Agreement How we define ourselves, and the world around us, forms our intent, which in turn, forms our reality. This process also determines how we treat ourselves, one another, and the environment. Currently, our world view, and therefore our life experience, is dominated by three basic core beliefs or perceptions. They are: we are only human with one life to live; we are separate from each other; and there is not enough to go around. When you look at these self and world defining concepts from a distance you can see how limiting and divisive they are and how they breed associated ideas like “survival of the fittest, dog-eat-dog,” and “devil take the hindmost”. These are predatory concepts we see dramatized in life, work, and art every day. Even our definition of success, which is determined by the amount of money, power, and prestige we acquire, is an outgrowth of these basic beliefs, which is why enough money, enough power, and enough prestige (status) is never enough for those who truly believe in scarcity and separateness. When we insist on believing that we are only human with one life to live, we are separate from each other, and there is not enough to go around, we create a foundation of ideas that supports the unfairness, violence and suffering we see in the world. Making life even more challenging are two additional negative and related self-definitions: we are inherently bad, or evil; therefore, we cannot trust ourselves. Both these beliefs are natural outgrowths of the above core beliefs . Their combined substance creates the need for a Value Judgment World, a fear-based reality in which we constantly measure ourselves, and one another, against outside standards of being and performance, using humiliation and the mechanism of guilt and punishment to keep us in line. The Value Judgment World Versus the Value Fulfillment World The difference between the Value Judgment World we live in today and the Value Fulfillment World we can live in tomorrow starts with the basic premise upon which each is built. As stated above, the Value Judgment World is the result of our belief that: we are only human with one life to live; we are separate from each other; and there is not enough to go around. The Value Fulfillment World, on the other hand, is based on the following set of core beliefs: we are eternal souls temporarily existing in flesh; we are both One and separate; there is enough to go around, if we share. Each set of core beliefs creates a different outcome, a different world. The first reality is fear-based while the second reality is love-based. One world is threatening while the other is safe. In a world dominated by a belief in mortality, separateness, and scarcity, fear, distrust, and competition force us to create central forms of religious and secular authority to formally control and direct our behavior. On a less formal level but more pervasive, social norms (external values) that characterize different aspects of being and performance as right or wrong, good or bad, control us through the powerful voice of public opinion and self-judgment. From birth we learn to compare ourselves and one another to outside standards of being and performance in every role we play. In the process of forcing ourselves and one another to conform to these pre-approved external patterns of being and performance (behavior), we often become Master Fault Finders, criticizing and attacking one another, and ourselves, for what we think or don't think, for things we do or don’t do, and for differences in our size, shape, weight, race, religion, age, sex, beauty, and intelligence. As we compare ourselves to one another, and outside standards of being and performance (social values), we are making judgments about our worthiness or unworthiness and our effectiveness or ineffectiveness based on these comparisons, hence the name, Value Judgment World. In the fear-based Value Judgment World, most of our creative energy is absorbed by activities involving survival and defense. We go to school, work, and try to develop a lifestyle that helps us avoid suffering, guilt, punishment, and the wrath of public opinion. We invest so much of our creative energy in being what we think we’re supposed to be and doing what we think we’re supposed to do, we forget what it is we love to be and what it is we love to do. Only during infancy and in quiet moments away from the demands and expectations of a fearful, manipulating, and controlling world do we get in touch with our true self and highest ideals. In these quiet moments of creative freedom and spontaneity, we look for pleasure in what we are and what we do. Our natural intent is to be what we love to be and do what we love to do. Pleasure in the form of love, truth and joy (happiness) is life’s highest reward. Sadly, this natural impulse is often cut off or corrupted in a world of separation, competition, and fear. If we stop to think a minute, we will realize that consciousness and energy (awareness and action) are at the heart of all being and creation. It is the Great Oneness from which All That Is springs! Consciousness and energy are what we use to make choices, create individuality and personality. Consciousness is behind the creation of matter and its manipulation in time and space. It is what we use to manipulate and express our personality energy essence in life, imagination, and dreams. Consciousness is the Great Oneness of which we are all a part, and apart from, at the same time. This gives new meaning to the Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." It says that I am you in another body and another life, creating reality from another perspective. To understand this is to evolve beyond defensiveness, war, and victimization because in the knowledge of our eternal Oneness, individuality and uniqueness becomes sacred. When everything is One, every "thing" is sacred! When we appreciate our Oneness and individuality, when we know that to love another is to love ourselves and to give to another is to give to ourselves, we automatically take into account what is best for all. We know that, ultimately, this is what's best for us! When we truly understand and respect our Oneness and individuality, we will choose to live by Value Fulfillment and Practice Idealism. In other words, we will take responsibility for determining the qualities of life and being we value most, our ideals, and actualize them to the best of our ability, motivated by our own natural passion and spontaneity. When we strive to live out our highest values to the best of our ability, we are Practicing Idealism, hence the name Value Fulfillment World. This lifestyle rests on the trust and respect for individuality that comes only when we realize we are both One and separate at the same time, that each of us is a sovereign being responsible for creating our own reality, and co-creating our shared reality. In a Value Fulfillment World things are done through love and cooperation, not force and manipulation, and there is no right or wrong, good or bad, there just IS. There is what works best and what doesn’t work as well. Egocentricity and self-consciousness are removed when life becomes a matter of seeing things for what they really are and doing what works best for all of us. When we are able to see the magic and wonder, the consciousness and energy behind the creation of All That Is, we will become Masters of Appreciation, and truth will be seen to have a beauty of its own that sparkles like diamonds. When we are true to ourselves and take responsibility for the kind of energy we send out into the world as we create our own reality, we will sparkle like diamonds! Isn't it amazing to think that changing the world for the better can be as simple as changing a few basic core beliefs? Actually, it isn’t that simple. Even though we know intuitively we’re all cut from the same cloth , it's hard to believe when our intellectual understanding and outer senses tell us so clearly we’re separate. To see our Oneness, we need to develop and use our Inner Senses and Intuitive Abilities. This is why sharing our Inner Experiences in Real Talk World and the Real Talk Library is so important. To make the jump from the fear and violence of the Value Judgment World to the love and peace of the Value Fulfillment World we need to “see” that we are both One and separate at the same time. That’s what a belief is; it's something we believe because we have proof or evidence of its reality. Understanding the difference between these two worlds will make our choice easier and smooth the way as we make the jump from one world to the other. In the Value Fulfillment World, life is not a matter of me against you or them against us. Nor is it about being the smartest, the fastest, the strongest, the richest, or the prettiest. It's about seeing things for what they really are, and doing what works best for ALL of us. Indeed, in this world, life is not about competition and survival of the fittest, it is about partnership and co-creation. Our lives, this world, the universe are all about creation, what we choose to make of ourselves and how we choose to relate to the world. This includes the freedom to create a Value Judgment World as well as a Value Fulfillment World. So the question remains, which self and which world do we want to create? It is up to us to decide, individually and collectively, as it always has been.
